World Hydrogen Industry

WHL Industry

As the world slowly moves closer towards decarbonisation, certain sectors have bigger challenges than most. Heavy industry such as iron, steel, cement, and petrochemicals have the biggest demand for hydrogen and make up the largest combined carbon footprints, due to the extreme heat required for production. However, with great demand comes great opportunity for a switch to low-carbon hydrogen, significantly reducing greenhouse gases, and accelerating the clean hydrogen market.

Despite the slow progress, projects are steadily developing. In Sweden, for example, development of the world’s first fossil-free steel plant – completely fuelled by clean hydrogen – is underway. A number of other large-scale green hydrogen projects are also in development in oil refining, methanol and ammonia production.

Join us for our brand-new event dedicated to addressing the unique challenges and opportunities that come with decarbonising industry. Experts across the entire value chain will discuss what strategies and technological advancements are needed to accelerate progress, kickstart project investment and development, and make good on hydrogen’s huge potential to decarbonise the world’s most carbon-intensive sector.
